KEY TRENDS FOR A / W 20-21

August is one of those months that I mark as a favorite on my calendar, not only because it´s the summer month par excellence, the month of vacations. August is synonymous with rest, disconnection, beach, swimming pool ... and thousands of plans without haste, to take it easy and enjoy every moment and thus store it in the retina. This year, the month of August will be somewhat different due to the pandemic, but I am sure it will be enjoyed the same.

Another reason why I love this month is because the first fall / winter trends are beginning to be seen. As a good fashionista, I love being in the summer, wearing clothes from this summer season and at the same time wearing something characteristic of the following season. It´s incredible, from a stylistic perspective, to combine both styles in the same season. In addition, these trends announce us that a new course begins, with new purposes and challenges. What do you think about it? The words "new collection" sound good to any ear.

This is the reason for this post, after reviewing the fashion shows presented last February, we discovered the key trends for the next season F / W 20-21 and that you can now wear in your outfits to set the trend!

  • FIRED BRICK COLOR

A very autumn color, it is a brown with magenta tints. For this reason, it´s neither eggplant color nor chocolate color, but a mixture of them. Result, a very flattering color and very easy to combine with light tones such as nude or beige; with dark tones like Classic blue or green and why not with lilac or mustard. Also with the brown tone of the skin it is fabulous. So do not forget to get a garment of this color.

  • STYLE 80'S AND 90'S

2020 has been a year of revivals, and the SS 2020 season has confirmed it. The Millennial generation we have nostalgia for our childhood and adolescence and the looks show it. For this reason, in autumn / winter this style trend will continue with an 80's silhouette full of opulence and the minimal style characteristic of the 90's.

  • LARGE BABY NECK

Who would say that... but yes, a collar can be the key to a star look, a striking collar that does not need necklaces or ornaments. The previous winter they were already beginning to see each other but this winter they will definitely stay. Also when bigger and rounder the better. Eighties Opulence to the max.

  • LEOPARD PRINT

It may seem like a classic print, but it is true that every season it returns, or rather it does not end at all, but the animal print, very 80's print will stay in our closets.

  • SILVER

If we think of the 80's and the Glam movement (Bowie, Elton John…) silver cannot be missing to add a rocker touch to our looks.

  • SLEEVELESS T-SHIRTS WITH SHOULDERERS

If there is a garment that this season combines both the 80's and 90's style, that is the sleeveless shirt with shoulder pads. T-shirts in a minimal key, mostly straight cut but with shoulder pads to define it. A very flattering t-shirt that you can wear with shorts.

  • SATIN FABRIC

A delicate, silky, fine, feminine, light fabric ... how many adjectives ... it reminds us of going to sleep ... but precisely for that reason it will be very present, to remind us that it can also be a very suggestive fabric that will add a sexy touch to our looks. Clearly this fabric is a slepping dress, it will be the key to a good look. Doesn't it remind you a bit of Rachel's dresses from Friends or Victoria Beckham's outfitts?

  • CHOKER

That necklace that is not a necklace because it is very close to the neck. McQueen, Erdem or Moschino bet on this complement in their look proposals for the A / W 20-21 season. An unexpected accessory, but very powerful. It is true that some seasons ago (year 2017) we had already used it ... but it´s back, clearly because it´s a synonym of 90's style.

  • FRINGED BAGS

In recent seasons fringes have timidly appeared in many versions. However this season they are confirmed as a very powerful element, which will be both in bags, jackets and pants. Country and hippie reminiscences assured.

  • SHORT SCARVES

The short scarves, yes, that typical square scarf you are thinking of ... will be one of the star accessories for next season. A very 90's complement popularized in its day by celebrities like Beyoncé, JLo or Guns N 'Roses. We will see them in multiple versions, in different styles and in any part of the body from head, neck, wrist, as a belt ... rescue those scarves that you hid!

Although most of these trends are for women's outfits, some can also be applied to the men's wardrobe, such as the 80's and 90's style, the use of the Fired Brick color or garments with shoulder pads.

We do not know for now, because uncertainty overwhelms us and floods us, if we can show off these trends in our jobs or we will have to wear them while we telework, so now that it is still possible, I invite you to include them in your looks of summer!
