CLASSIC BLUE, COLOR OF 2020

One more year, the color trend forecasting company, Pantone, presents us with the color that will flood all our color spaces: decoration, textile, fashion ... It´s also the first color of this new decade.
This new color called "Classic Blue" is a timeless and imperishable blue tone that stands out for its elegance and simplicity. This blue tone instills calm, confidence and connection. Comforting qualities that highlight our desire to consolidate reliable and stable foundations on which to build our way to the threshold of a new era. A color that evokes looking at the infinity of the twilight sky, to look beyond the obvious and expand our thinking, expand our perspective and open the flow of communication.
In short, it´s a gentle color that brings a sense of peace and tranquility to the human spirit and offers refuge. It facilitates concentration and brings clarity that helps us focus our thoughts again. A reflective tone that fosters resilience, because we live in a time that demands trust and faith.
But ... how do we translate all these features talking about fashion? How does this color affect my looks? What does it give me? Dear friends, here is influenced by the psychology of color, that great ally that fashion designers have.
All this translates into that, if we use this color for our outfits, what we will convey is peace, confidence, elegance and communication. A color that we could perfectly use for a work meeting in which we want to instill tranquility and at the same time win, for example.
"Classic Blue" is a very intense color with a lot of personality. In my opinion as a fashion designer, wearing this color in a total look is quite risky, and likewise, not all readers feel able to wear it. Therefore, here are some examples of how to combine it with other colors and what meaning it brings to your look such combinations:
you want to get a striking, energetic and tendentious look, (typical of an it girl) combine it with intense green, as in the photo. This green, having cold pigment base, binds very well to this blue.
This blue if you mix it with metallic colors, both silver and gold, you will get a sophisticated and elegant look. A very successful choice for a guest or party look. While if you combine it with black, it will give your look personality and strength. If you use it for a job interview, you will be able to convey confidence but also security.
An analogy of color is always a success. Mix different shades of the same color, in this case different lighter blues, bring serenity and lots of light to your outfits. As advice, combined with another top color this season: Faded Denim, you'll get that perfect union between light blue and gray. A very appropriate combination from now for that transitional transition from winter to spring. Brown is also another success when combining "Classic Blue". This cold color combined with the warmth of brown will achieve a perfect balance between casual and sophisticated. Try introducing brown in bags or shoes. Finally, my proposal is that you combine it with pastel tones. Powdered colors are booming again this spring, especially orange and yellow. These two colors mixed with this blue will bring to your look romanticism, light, simplicity and joy. Nothing better to welcome you to this new season!
If these proposals don´t convince you, remember that the easiest way is always to incorporate this color into your looks through accessories such as: jewelry, footwear, scarves or bags. The intention will be the same although less striking.
