With the arrival of August, we put our minds in vacation mode, as it is the month of rest par excellence. We are all eager to pack our bags and unwind for a few days to recharge our batteries before back to work.
Packing a bag seems like a simple act to carry out: put the clothes, toiletries, footwear... and it would be there. But it is not that simple, and for many people it is a tedious activity, especially if the action is complicated by a delimitation of bag space, as is the case of cabin bag for the plane. To me, the truth is an act that I love (undoing them not so much I have to admit) Maybe it's because I love traveling or because I've been preparing bags since I was a child. And not only for me, in ocations for any family member.
If you too are overwhelmed by packing and don't know where to start... here are some tips that can be of great help:
The first thing is to locate yourself. What is the destination? How many days long? What activities am I going to do? It is important that we know what kind of functions or acts we are going to have during our trip since that can make our choice vary. It is also very important to find out about the weather of the destination, this will give us clues about the clothes to put in the suitcase and how to combine them between them so as not to carry excess baggage.
Once we have this resolved, my advice, make a list of everything you have to put in the bag, so as not to leave anything in the pipeline and cross off the list as you go. For clothing and footwear, you can prepare the looks that you are going to wear at a table. Keep in mind that "just in case" take up space, so plan well the outfits that you are going to wear depending on the days and the place. Remember that with several garments you can create different looks: for example, a scarf serves as a pareo for the beach, as a top and to keep the neck warm. The key is knowing how to combine the garments. If you don't have much management... here I leave you these links of other posts that can help you:
And now we get to the heart of the matter, how do I put everything in the suitcase?
Place the heaviest and least delicate items at the bottom: footwear, outerwear, jeans...
Place underwear and swimsuits in cloth bags, when we arrive at the destination, they will also serve to store dirty clothes and during the journey they will be protected.
The small garments that do not wrinkle will serve to fill the holes left by the rest of the clothes in the bag as well as pyjama, toiletry bag, chargers, medicines... or other items that we need.
Then we must place t-shirts, sweaters, pants... all well folded avoiding wrinkles and with the sleeves inward.
Finally, the delicate garments and a towel that exerts protection when closing the suitcase.
Simple right? Important notes:
All garments must be folded inside out. This will prevent fading or stains from occurring during the trip.
Remember to travel comfortably, with wide garments and if they can be made of cotton, and wearing, for example, the footwear that occupies the most in order to save space in the suitcase.
We must take into account that there is a small free space in our suitcase in case we buy gifts or clothes in the destination we are going to.
And if there is still room in the suitcase... You can always take a travel iron that will make you dizzy!
Now, if you can already boast of a perfect suitcase, designer's word! Remember that practice always improves technique and... enjoy the long-awaited vacation!
