Shopping and understanding the labels on pants is becoming increasingly difficult. With such a variety of models, fit and terminologies... What pants am I buying?
Even for me it´s sometimes difficult. Since it isn´t an easy task, here are some descriptions that may help you:
1. The first thing you should look at when you take the label of a pants is to look at the type of fit it has. The most common fits are usually:
Skynny fit: very very tight pants both at the hip and the leg towards the ankle.
Slim fit: tight pants, but not as tight as skinny pants. A little less tight at the ankle.
Mom fit: pants usually high rise, looser at the hips and more fitted towards the leg and ankle.
Straight or Regular fit: classic trouser fit, it is not fitted and is usually quite straight.
2. Después debes fijarte en el tiro del pantalón, que puede ser
Low Waist: at the height of the hip
Mid rise: below the navel
High rise: above the navel.
3. Finally you should look at the width of the leg. Here we can find pants of the type:
Flare: flared towards the end of the leg
Flare crop: they are like the flare but shorter, like above the ankle bone. Highly recommended for short girls.
Culotte: pants that go straight from the hip to the mid-leg.
Jogger: pants with rubber that fit at the ankle. A fit very typical of a tracksuit
Palazzo: pants with a very wide leg and straight from the contour.
Tailoring: pants that fit the leg but reach the beginning of the ankle.
Apart from these models we can find others such as:
Slouchy: they tend to bulge at the hips.
Baggy: waist always with elastic and very tight.
Cargo: military style pants. They always have patch pockets on the leg.
Paper bag: pants that gather at the waist with a bow.
I hope that after these tips and descriptions, your purchase of pants and jeans will be easier.
